Try Sugar Matte as Hell Lip Crayon 03 Poison Ivy review, swatches, pictures

Hey guys how are you all,Today i have a review post on the newly launched lip crayon by Trysugar. This brand is not so very famous like others who have been ruling over the Indian market since ages like L'oreal,Maybelline,Revlon.I came across this brand through Fab bag monthly subscription service,in one of the bag i got their liquid liner and this time as well i received this newly launched Matte as Hell lip crayon in my fab bag.I quite liked the liner because of it's formula and applicator and then got this lip crayon, excitement was on some other level.I wanted this particular shade Poison Ivy and luckily i got this shade only, since it's deep dark plum ish red shade and perfect for deeper skin tones and this time of the year.
This Crayon comes in 4 different shades-
01 Scarlett 'O' Hara
02 Mary Poppins
03 Poison Ivy
04 Holly Golightly
Let's talk about the packaging first, these crayons come in a traditional try sugar cardboard box and the packaging of these crayons are very normal, nothing very exciting, and infact i find the packaging flimsy and not that sturdy. The outer packaging of these crayons is normal black plastic packaging with there names and brand logo on it and just behind that there is the product, shade and no on it. The bottom of the crayon is color coordinated to the shade inside, which makes it helpful to identify the shade quickly, you dun have to go through each name to identify the shade you want. The cap is not that sturdy to stay intact and which makes it less travel friendly and i can say that because i have made a mess already :( and i am saying it by my experience with these, the cap doesn't have the click mechanism hence it can open easily and create a mess. The crayon comes with its own sharpener, since it's not twist up pencil, and i have tried to sharpen it up,if you work carefully it's not a big problem but still it creates a little mess,i would have loved if they had launched it as twisting crayon,so the product does not get wasted. All the crayons come with a pointed tip and this is no exception.I feel the pointed tips works great when you want a precise application without making any mess.
Formula on these is not at all like the way they have promoted it "Matte as Hell" .If you are expecting it to be a super matte non transferable lip crayon, than you are mistaken. The formula is not completely matte,it has a sheen to it and you can see that on your lips. The product is not very thick that it can cover the pigmentation of your lips in one swipe, having said that i have no issues with the pigmentation, these are decently pigmented. It's like a very light base with higher pigmentation.Since the formula is not thick it doesn't hide the imperfections of your lips,if you have chapped and dry lips,it would emphasise those and being a very light and creamy base it tends to get settled in the cracks so you would definitely need to exfoliate your lips before hand. One more thing which i feel that these are more on a creamier side so while applying it takes multiple swipes to get the even color on the lips and because of that the product tends to get over quickly.I feel the texture of these crayons is very similar to the Revlon matte balm.
Longevity is not that good on these, since these are not completely matte the product transfers very easily,if you are eating or drinking. For me it didn't last more than 2 hours without eating and drinking, with eating and drinking it would go away completely then and there only.
Price- 799 INR,Quantity 2.8g
Overall i feel the product is okay okay for me not that great and when you compare it with the price you are getting it for,i feel these are overpriced. There are many brands with great quality lip crayons in market with much lesser prices.
That's about it for now, thanks for reading:)
See you in my next post!!!
XOXO
